Hi all

I am currently on maternity leave and due to go back to work part time in about a month's time rather than my full time previous hours.

We are in receipt of child benefit and a small element of working tax credit. I need to advise of the change in circumstances to possibly adjust my tax credits benefits but I am wondering what other benefits I/we would be entitled to if I gave up work after my minimum 3 month return period that my employer stipulates I complete.

I ask because if I put my daughter into childcare whilst I work part-time, the majority or my salary would be eaten up in childcare costs.

Here's hoping someone can pass on their knowledge to me.

You may get some child tax credits. Because you're not a single parent, you can't get income support and because you've decided to stay at home and look after your child, you can't get JSA.
