Hi, I have a camcoder tape from 1991 in which the person doing the recording forgot to turn the light in. This tape has massive sentimental importance to my parents and I woud love to get it brightened up and onto a dvd. I have managed to put it onto a DVD myself but am at a loss as to what is the best programme/way to brighten it up for them. Is this even possible?
Many many thanks..

There are many video editing programmes where you can tweak contrast, colour, brightness, saturation etcetera. But.... bear in mind if the original quality is poor than you cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
What did you use to get it onto DVD?0 -
Windows Live Movie Maker (only works with Windows 7), has the facility to brighten up the image, you have to be careful with it though or you end up saturating the picture.
I guess other editing software has the same facility.
The good news is that you have captured and digitised your video so it won't degrade further.

Thanks folks, was able to transfer it by getting an adapter for the camcoder tape to vhs then put onto dvd from vhs. I have tried quite a few programmes such as pinnacle and enhancemovie to be honest and the quality is still not great. Just trying windows movie maker now...Thanks again..0
