I grew "Purplette" this year for pickling, and I got them from Tuckers seeds
They were ok, but if you do grow them try and harvest them before they turn into golfball sized ones, like some of mine did! I just used the big ones as red onions (I did pickle some smaller ones)
Tbh I prefer shallots for pickling, but that's just me...0 -
We always pickle the smaller shallots we grow from seed (the banana/chicken leg ones), they are slightly sweeter.
