Warning David Lloyd Gyms Notice Period con

Beware if your a member of David Lloyd Gyms. You're probably under the impression that you have to give a months notice to leave the gym - WRONG - it can be up to 8+ weeks.
You have to pay for the whole month following the month in which you resign your membership, eg if you resign on 2/10/10 you will be charged up to 30/11/10.
Of course this is all covered by the small print but during your initial interview you were probably led to believe that only a months notice was needed.
Is this an unfair contract clause, perhaps a class action is required.

Not unfair and you had the right to read the T&Cs before you signed up.
Perhaps some glasses are required ?

Sounds right to me - I would expect to pay 1 FULL month notice from the date my subscription payment goes out, so if I pay on the 30th of the month, and I cancelled today, I'd have a subscription until 29th November.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
When i quit david lloyd i had to give 3 months notice. Looks like things have improved if its down to 8 weeks! Plus i don't see how it can be a con if you've signed something that clearly states this? This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
