Wide wellies

I have just had the suprise of my life. Went into Sports Direct and spotted some lovely wide wellies, in either black or green. They are Campri ones, and the calf measures about 16 inches. Size 5 cost £9.99, I think they go up to £12.99 after that. And they go over my jeans. Much as I would love some nicer ones, the chances of my getting to Matalan are fairly slim so I got some of these. Now I have wellies ready for winter, and it will probably be the mildest, driest winter in a century!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I think that Jilleon wellies are great in that they are definately adjustable enough for wide to the extremely wide calf. I have a slightly larger leg.Not that big around the ankle and they need to be worn with quite a few pairs of socks. They also have a very irritating buckle on the inner leg that keeps coming undone. I don't think I would buy them again ( sorry Jileon) I think I bought them at the end of the winter for dog walking because I was so fed up with muddy jeans. I have a pair of very short leg wellies that are very comfortable and from homebase. I also noticed that Mandmdirect have some neoprene leg hunters for £55 which may be suitable and there is a £10 off voucher floating about on Hotukdeals. Also some short leg wellies on that site too0

I am the biggest Crocs fan in the world lol maybe not that bg but I love em, I have always got a pair of Crocs Summer Sandals on even in the depths of winter sometimes
However
I would not recommend the Crocs wellies for serious winter use for 2 reasons, not 100% sure how well they would stand upto mud and snow but also being made of the same material as the summer sandal they will have about as much grip on a wet floor as an elephant on an Ice Rink! Many a time I have nearly come a cropper in mine on supermarket floors when they are wet even smooth paving stones!!
No on wet days even my Crocs get left at home :rotfl: So I really cannot see these wellie being a serious option.......................
Thanks for the other ideas though, I am a bigger chap and have struggled for a couple of years to find a wide enough pair of wellies, fair enough I have not made a "great" effort but have tried a few pairs on here and there to no avail. There is a Sports Direct near me I may go and check out that cool farming green ones"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -
I've also had this problem :rotfl:So hard to get them without paying a fortune and ridiculous postage charges. I have just managed to get a pair in Matalan though for £12 that fit fine which is the first pair that ever have :T
Thank you so much for that ...... I have been trying to get wellies to fit for 9 yrs. Went to matalan today shopping and tried on their wellies and almost fell over when I got my leg straight in them
I am so over the moon as it means my jeans will not get all muddy when I go camping and when it pours with rain I won't get wet PJ's popping out in the night

I was given a pair of the wellies as a gift, & though they're fine to look at, as you say, they're useless in the wet
Crocs do professional clogs for kitchens with non-slip soles, they need to put that sole technology on thier wellies, then they'd have a winner :T0
