Oops, sorry to have caused all this trouble. I am fairly new to these boards and didn't realise that there was a referrers board0

Gentlemen, Gentlemen - if we could go back pre-fight, I am also opening an A& L account in order to have the 12% regular saver. I have to put £500 per month into it, out of which I shall transfer £250 to the saver - can I then transfer the other £250 back to my feeder account, rather than have it sit doing nothing?0

Why the report for the PM?
I nearly jumped in with both feet again. Thanks KTF if it is true.0 -
You can have both according to the A and L - I phoned them earlier this week! If in any doubt why not do the same...
FYI : I initially had Premier Account. Then after phoning them I applied online for Premier Direct and got accepted (email arrived, awaiting paperwork).
When you apply for Premier Direct you get the chance to enter your existing A and L account number.

Looking at the T&Cs it says:
"you may only open an account in conjunction with a current account"
""Current Account" means an Alliance & Leicester Premier Current Account"
so you could read it either way.0 -
Yes, the Premier Current account is the 1.5% account with the option to open up the 12% monthly saver.

The Premier Direct Current Account is 6.1% interest with no option of opening the monthly saver.

From: https://www.applications.alliance-leicester.co.uk/smartapps/index.asp?lookfeel=currentaccounts&prepopapptype=premplus&tunnel=yes&ct=curraccmenuThere is a maximum of either one Premier or one Premier Direct Current Account per customer. Existing Alliance & Leicester current account customers wishing to change their account type to a Premier Direct Current Account should call the telephone number on the front of their current account statement.0
