A simple Hi then their full name?
Then once you get to know them, just use first name"No likey no need to hit thanks button!":pHowever its always nice to be thanked if you feel mine and other people's posts here offer great advice:D So hit the button if you likey:rotfl:0 -
How do they write emails to you?
For first contact I usually start with Dear Prof whatever... and sign with kind regards then follow their lead with replies.0 -
I'm with MrsManda.
As they are probably older than you and you probably don't know them very well use Dear Prof surname.
If they then reply to you as first name only then in future address them as that.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Write an email in the same way that you would write a letter (I've had to send emails to students in the past reminding them that text-speak isn't appropriate for messages to staff!). Dear Dr/Prof X, with a proper sign off at the bottom (or best wishes if you want to be a bit less formal):happyhear0
