  • You have to pay listing fees
  • Hi
Here is the link to the eBay fees page. Like most things that they do not really want you to see it can be a bit of a pain to find.

Presumably your fees are just made up of listing fees.
    Hope that this helps.

    thanks for that....
well...one of them i definitley listed on a free listings day, and the other was a few months ago, and i'm certain the fees were really small..something like 20p if it sells.
i didnt even include pictures, so i cant see why it would cost so much. what about people that sell something that only goes for 99p, wouldnt they lose out?
the email comes from an automated server, and i can't find an address on the site to query it.
does anyone know an email address?
i know its not much...but i don't want to pay if i don't owe it

  • If you go to "my ebay" which gives a summary of items for sale and sold (it does for me, but not sure if it does this for people who are not regular sellers?).
On the left of this page under "my account" is "seller account" if you follow the links in this it will show how the fees were calculated and what they were for. It is awful to use this method if you list lots of things but should be pretty straightforward if you have only listed two items.
If you still do not agree with the fees I suppose that you will have to contact them through http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/contact_inline/index.html but this really should not have the word help anywhere in it!!
Let me know if you have any more probs

As Robdolphin says all the fee details will be included in your ebay pages. A basic listing starting at 99p should only cost 15p in fees to list, however it is really easy to click on extras when you are listing something for the first time and rack up a bill.

If by any chance you still have the confirmation email you received from ebay confirming your listing it will show the fees clearly. Fees would also have been shown very clearly in the final listing page just by the 'confirm' button so you can confirm you are happy with the fees before you list. It would be impossible to list something without seeing a clear breakdown of the fees.

Also, re free listing days, these are very rare and usually carry some sort of requirement. For instance sometimes they specifiy using a BIN only auction, sometimes they insist on paypal being offered as a payment. If you fail to follow the terms of the free listing properly thenm full listing fees will apply, but again these would have been clearly outlined in the confirm page when listing and on your confirmation e mail from ebay.

Check your ebay pages first and if nothing is showing there by way of outstanding charges there is always the possibility that the email is a scam of some sort.
