Extra excess payable if recommended repairer is not used?
Does your insurance company have something similar to this in the small print?
"If you decide not to use our recommended repairer then an additional excess of £200 will be applied. This excess will be in addition to any other excesses shown on your policy schedule"
Is this a common clause now?
Does anyone know how widespread this is in the motor insurance industry?

Haven't seen that one before but no doubt it'll catch on! A lot of them won't pay for a courtesy car if you don't use their recommended repairer.0

Yep, More common now, Just use their repairer and reject any repairs you are not happy with.
I presume they do it to try and keep costs down, But the garage will quote over the odds anyway then
pass on the 20% discount they already added on.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
