Can anyone suggest where to get the best Pet Insurance for Older Dog

I am about to re-home a 12 year old Staffie. I want to get some Pet Insurance for him. Can anyone point me to the best 'Life' policy please? I have been told that a life policy would cover anything he develops while I have him so is best as it wont be excluded from the following years policy. :o

  • We went through the RSPCA for our pet insurance. Our dog is 11 and we pay £11.40 per month HTH.

Avoid E&L at all costs! They usually find a way not to pay; ask any vet.
Be very careful (ask before paying, not like me) with any co if your dog does not have a full medical history that you can produce in the event of any claim, no matter how unrelated.

Try Marks & Spencer they I am told don't have any excess and I think their charges are pretty much the same as the other company's but the saving on the excess has got to be a good thing

I have E&L and never had a problem with them, a vet will onlly recommend their own policy as they get paid commission, I don't think legally they are allowed to comment on what insurance policy you should have I know my vet was very cautious, I had E&L when I purchased my dog and had to claim two days before it ran out I did think they would not pay but to be honest I had the cheque a week later so I continuted with them.

Have a look on money supermarket.com I am sure they do a search on pet insurance may be wrong
