Redundancy-Does how length of service matter?

    Also that you have notified your employer you have done them.

    Good point.

    It may even be worth considering that when redundancy does loom, to check with HR and ensure all of your training records are up to date.

    Hi again and many thanks for your brilliant replies!
    Ok, here's a question- We have today been given a letter that doesn't say that there will be redundancies but explains what pay we would recieve etc. But what it doesn't say is what notice they will give us, i've looked in the company handbook and it doesn't even mention redundancies...please can someone enlighten me on this?
    Not yet a total moneysaving expert...but im trying!!

    Hi there, just a quickie-
    If a company is to make under around 8 redundancies, is it the norm for employees to just receive a letter on a monday morning explaining that they are to be made redundant? Is there no period where the employees are to be at least advised that there were going to be redundancies?

    There is no duty to consult where there are less than 20 redundancies proposed.

    Please start a new thread if you want to continue this rather than reviving and extending long-dead ones.
