But theres nothing left to cover
So, car sales are down again....

Like they say, could possibly get a boost in November / December, but what happens after that?! Boost in those 2 months is only going to provide less sales in the following 2 months than would have been normal.

So, car sales are down again....
UK car sales fell for the third consecutive month in September, although the rate of decline was less severe than in August.
Sales last month were down 8.9% from September 2009, said the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). This follows August's 17.5% fall.
Despite the latest drop in sales, the SMMT said sales for 2010 as a whole should still be higher than 2009.
It said January's rise in VAT could boost sales in November and December.

I'm still waiting for a car that was supposed to be ready late September, latest expected delivery is December. Motor manufacturers should get their finger out!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Graham, you missed a trick...
Should DC make the CB ceiling £44k per person or per household!
He obviously doesn't see it a problem for a single parent on that income to take the hit from the interviews I've seen so I expect it was considered.
Possibly the admin was the stumbling block?0 -

I'm convinced this is the crux of the issue. The ONLY reason Cameron didn't means test this to make it more palatable is that the staff won't be there to do it, imo.
I think after Oct 20th it will become clear why it would have been impractical. Therefore, they had to look for a cut-off that didn't involve lots of staff checking and cross-referencing.Fokking Fokk!0 -

The usual muppets on here will have some sort of excuse ready.....blame it on the Commonwealth games perhaps?0 -
Stripping out the boost to sales that came from the scrappage scheme, the SMMT said sales last month had been 16.3% higher than in September 2009.
SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt told the BBC that the UK car market was making "slow but steady improvement".
So like for like (no incentive) sales are increasing.0 -
