I'm after a decent foundation

Options
Hi
Getting married in Cyprus in November, and i'm desperate for a decent foundation/concealer. I have quite bad skin when it comes to scarring (had adult acne a few years back) I need something that wont change my skin colour but hides blemishes, scars etc. Any ideas. Oh and i dont mind paying the earth lol

I don't know about foundation because i try to avoid wearing it (it makes my own adult acne worse) but i've got a very good concealer from estee lauder which i use alongside benefit boi-ing.

Whatever you choose, be careful about a tan! I'm getting married in June in Rhodes, so i'm going to take a few shades with me! Don't want a pale face and a brown body!

Go round a few posh make-up counters and get some free makeovers, then choose the one you like best. Don't let them put any light-reflecting stuff on your face if there's going to be any flash photography though - the light from the flash will be reflected back from the make-up, causing some interesting effects on the photos!

I have heard that a mineral veil is very good for evening out the skin. My hairdressers/beauty salon that I go to uses the bare escentuals bare minerals range. According to the website ..
'bareMinerals cover a wide range of skin imperfections, including sun spots, rosacea, and acne. You can apply as much or as little as you like to achieve the look of flawless, beautiful bare skin.'
  • Hi....I use clinique....it is great....makes your skin look flawless.

I hate foundation, well foundation that looks like your wearing foundation that is. didnt wear it for years until i found this,

Then I apply mineral foundation (from Virgin or Bodyshop) with one of them expensive brushes

Gives me a nice even cover, and you cant even tell I am wearing anything.

Depending on how bad the scarring is, you might want to look at Dermablend - you can get little samples of all the different colours off ebay cheaply and easily and try it out, find the right colour etc. Just search for "Dermablend trial kit" or similar. Some larger Boots sell the full size foundations.

If the scarring isn't so bad, then definitely asking round counters in a department store (and take away samples to check durability and appearance in natural light, don't just buy there and then!) is best.

I also personally rate benefit concealers.

Really appreciate all the comments people ;)
I think i really want a concealer more than a foundation.........I dont wear makeup normally, only eye liner every now and again lol. I think years of wearing foundation, blusher etc years ago caused the acne in the first place and the last thing i need is for it to flare up again. The scarring isn't that bad but when i'm hot my face itches like mad and causes a rash of some kind. I will go around some shops and have a look, Ive also heard that the clinique stuff is good. I'll give the samples on ebay a go too. ......I Can't remember someof the brands that were mentioned lol, but i'll have a look back.

    Thanks for the help :D

I have rosacea and I found that Elizabeth Arden flawless finish is great. Its about £17 in the shops but I buy mine here

    http://www.fragrancedirect.co.uk/elizabeth-arden/elizabeth-arden-flawless-finish-foundation-19g/invt/0020047/

The trick to applying it is to dampen the sponge. Good luck hope you find something
