Help Talk talk problems

Hi all

well where do i start

back in july i called Talk talk and signed up up to their call and internet package. on the phone to their sales people i was told there was a promotion on for half price installation fee, great i thought. so when i was eventually connected and my pack through there was no mention of this, so i called them. i was told the department that deals with this sometimes takes a couple of bills to put this on the account, so i waited, then called again this time i was told that this promotion never existed and they hung up on me, then the next call i made thewoman told me that if that is what i was told then it would happen eventually,

so i have now delayed the payment on my account and keep asking about this reduction on the connection fee via their webform and 3 attempts i got no reply. so i then paid this months bill and asked the question again and amazingly i got a reply which is below

Dear Mr. Cooper,
Thank you for your email regarding your account.
Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your query.
I have viewed your account and can see that you were not entitled to a promotion regarding your installation fee, there are also no notes on system pertaining to a discount on your installation fee.
I kindly ask that you supply me with any proof you may have regarding this agreement so that I may further investigate the matter and provide you with a resolution, the proof I ask for can be found in your welcome pack.

now obviously i have no proof as it was a verbal statement by thier sales team and i was told on the phone that the sales will whatever it takes to get a customer to say yes ( errrrm i called them)

so where do i stand, what do i do, have i been lied to and stitched up???

    SOP for Talk Talk.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
