My question, and I have searched Halifax site for the answer,is it an unlimited amount you can make on the first withdrawal, which is penalty free, to another Halifax account.

In other words if you have £16k in the account, can you make a withdrawal of £15,999 penalty free?

You can withdraw any amount you want.

Larger withdrawals may get routed via a call centre for authorisation to ensure that some Eastern European isn't moving your money somewhere that you'd rather it didn't go.

I`m assuming because it`s an online only account I can move as much as I like into my current without any problems.

I don`t think they would allow "faster payments" from the WS extra to an outside account anyway.
Would probably have to go by BACs to an outside account, in which case there might be a limit.
