I'd like to mention this free site which helped me ENORMOUSLY when I gave up smoking. They won't suggest you spend any money or use any products, they just have all the facts and great advice on the forums from people who have been there and done it.

If the book doesn't work (I guess everyone's different and different things work for different people) you can get 24 pieces of nicotine gum for £1 at Poundland at the moment: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=298414

Don't do it, it's just the same thing in different packaging. Go cold turkey.I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0 -

Granted, it's the same drug, but it doesn't contain nearly as many toxins as cigarettes and is much cheaper in any case.
A lot of people find that quitting smoking is as much about killing habits and rituals as it is the actual addiction - so half the battle is won.
Saying that, I went cold turkey, but I know people who quit (and have stayed quit) using NRT. Each to their own.
