I contacted a car loan company online, they phoned me and once they had dealt with my application they passed me to We Fight Any Claim.com. By this time I had disclosed details about my credit cards (in support of my loan application) which they then used to try to sel me their services to reclaim payment protectio insurance. I thought this was quite sneaky; I thought I was arranging a car loan and all of a sudden someone was trying to sell me something about which I had done no research and know little. They've emailed me a factsheet which I've pasted below:

HOW OUR SERVICE WORKS
Our service works in two stages.
STAGE ONE:
Our legal team will request copies of your loan, credit card or hire purchase agreements from your lender(s) and carry out a thorough
review of them together with your completed Payment Protection Insurance (“PPI”) questionnaire.
We will then report to you with our findings. Our report will confirm whether you may have a claim for the mis-selling of any PPI
products which were sold to you with your loan, credit card or HP agreement.
We charge a fee to carry out the review of your loan, credit card and hire purchase agreements (see Our Fees below). This fee is fully
refundable if your claim is unsuccessful.
STAGE TWO:
If our review indicates that any PPI products were mis-sold to you, we will then pursue a claim on your behalf for reimbursement of
all PPI premiums paid on your loan, credit card or hire purchase agreements, plus statutory interest.
We charge a separate fee for this part of our service (see Our Fees below). This fee is fully refundable if your claim is unsuccessful.
OUR FEES:
The two stages are charged as follows:-
Stage One: Review Fee
We will charge a fee equal to £5.00 (5%) for every £100.00 of compensation we recover for you (subject to a minimum charge of
£245.00)
Stage Two: Success Fee
We will charge a fee equal to £25.00 (25%) for every £100.00 of compensation we recover for you. “Compensation” means any
money that we recover from your lender, broker or insurer or any money which your lender, broker or insurer pays to you or applies
as a credit to your loan account or other acount you may hold.
Example:
You paid £7500 for a PPI product. We recover £10,000 for you (£7,500 plus interest). Our total fee will be £3000 (30%), as follows:
Stage one review fee is £500 (5%).
Stage two success fee will be £2,500 (25%).
Both the stage 1 and stage 2 fees are fully refundable if your claim is unsuccessful.
WILL YOU HAVE TO APPEAR IN COURT?
It is extremely unlikely that you would ever have to appear in court as part of your claim because court action is not necessary in most
cases. If your claim did go to court, you may have to confirm in court what you were told by your PPI provider at the time the PPI
policy was sold to you.

Who was the car loan company you contacted? Was it Yes Loans....
Some info here on We fight Any claim

No, it was Car Loan 4 U.com, as advertised on the Autotrader website; they told me on the phone I had been accepted for the car loan, charged nearly £80 to my credit card as an arrangement fee, then began to sell me the idea of reclaiming PPI.
Today, I've recieved a text and an email telling me I had been refused the loan!!! I'm a member of Experian, so i know my credit history is very good. Last night they told me I had been approved but today they said no, I wonder is that decision because I was so suspicious when they talked about We Fight Any Claim.com or Beneficial Claims or whatever they call themselves services?
I certainly won't be contacting these people again!0

So they advertise the services of We Fight Any Claim when taking out a loan from them???No, it was Car Loan 4 U.com, as advertised on the Autotrader website; they told me on the phone I had been accepted for the car loan, charged nearly £80 to my credit card as an arrangement fee, then began to sell me the idea of reclaiming PPI.

ALso as they have taken the £80 from your credit card (although IF it is the dot.co.uk firm as you have used .com) what is this for as on their site they claim to not charge anything (if in fact it is the .co.uk one that is!!). I think you need to ask why you have been charged this amount?
I know that Yes loans (as mentioned in my post above) do the same thing and lots never get their loans promised OR their money back. If this was within 30 days you are allowed to cancel I would think but you need to write to them to request your refund and send by recorded delivery.0

Good morning. This is a response on behalf of CarLoan4U.co.uk. I am an employee of the aforementioned company and just wish to set the record straight on this thread.
We are very customer focused here at CL4U and one of our unique selling points that we are very proud of is that we DO NOT CHARGE A FEE TO ANY OF OUR CUSTOMERS at any point in the process. We also do not offer a PPI reclaim service either.

However, I can understand where the confusion may have originated from. We get our customers from many different sources and one of these sources is Autotrader. When one of our customers makes an application through this source they have to fill out an initial enquiry form, just their name and telephone number and perhaps an email, they will then be passed through to our full application page. The information where the initial enquiry is made (name, telephone number and email) is sent through to Yes Loans and other companies and this is where the problem is. We are working with Autotrader to just get a straight link to our website and eliminate the initial enquiry information. WE ARE NOT PASSING YOUR INFORMATION ONTO YES LOANS, THE AUTOTRADER SYSTEM IS.

We have had numerous customers that have come across this problem and we are working very hard to eliminate it. We fear it is damaging our reputation in the industry and it is a reputation that we have worked very hard to build up over the last 8 years. We will never ask for your credit card details at any point in the deal, we suggest that if any company does, stop communicating with them immediately.

I hope this clears things up. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to contact me and it will be my pleasure to help you out the best I can.

I have recently had deallings with Carloans4u and there not quite as truthful as they make out.
I have spoken to Tom this week and to be honest he did try and explain how they charge customers.
I can provide proof of this to anyone but I think I will leave it to Carloans4u to explain how they tried to charge me a £500 fee :eek:www dot pendocycle200 dot com
