Follow this advice as posted in numerous other threads:

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and go to UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated go to SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION') It's on the right hand side under "Download this version"
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

Are you posting from the affected machine, or do you have access to another?

    I yes I was....

I managed to solve the problem :j by using system restore in Safe mode, although Comodo internet security seems to have been corrupted so I will need to get that fully reinstalled asap - I have indiviually installed the antivirus & firewall for now!

Some how the security settings had been changed so 'system' was the only one that had full access to many programmes! I'm guessing this may have been a virus or malware attack but I might be being over paranoid :rotfl: What do you guys think probably happened?

    Knaff44 - Sorry if I seemed a little sharp :o I was tired & very frustrated
