Credit Report - Linked Addresses

Options
Can anyone clarify what Linked Addresses are and how they affect the report & lending decisions???

Some how I have 40 on my account, granted 7 of them are the wrong person and this is being sorted.

If the company does not appear on the Previous Searches (also confirmed with CRA that no search was done by them) yet appears on the Linked addresses & I have applied for credit to them does this mean I have been searched? Bit confused.

linked address are created by a lender or yourself when you apply for credit etc, example you have live at your present address for 1 year and last address for 6 years you would put this in an application for credit thus this creates a linked address on your credit file, also if you have lots of debt and you move address and dont inform your creditors but you inform one of them like your bank the bank will report to your new address and your current address will show as a linked address, and this is what lenders who are looking for unpaid debts at prev address look for. if you dont know the address at all then it could be someone applying fpr credit in your name at another address this would need to be reported by yourself to the cra or police, hope this helps

    Thanks :)

I guess what I am wanting to know are the linked addresses proper searches as the company do not show up in previous searches on experian.

So far 6 are by the company concerned. But they have the wrong address and may be the result of the refusal. However the credit score has not been affected by the application???
At least 7 are by another person - this is what my original dispute is with and being sorted. Same name and lived in the same block of flats.

    The rest are all duplicates.

In the last 6 years I have had 4 addresses - result of being a student.

    I also have no debt.

So I am confused as to why there are so many.

Linked addresses are addresses that organisations have listed as you living at currently and in the past. They are not always down to searches but any reportable item such as bank accounts, credit cards etc. Are all the addresses ones you have lived at or are they corruptions of correct addresses such as happens with flats ? If they are not where you have lived then you need to get it sorted as there could be some identity fraud happening.
