A 1TB NAS is on my Christmas shopping list and as such I'm not terribly familiar with them.
I see this has positive reviews:

But no mention of size - do you have to buy drives for it separately?
TIA

Thanks, but I'm still not clear... I have highlighted the bits that don't seem to be 100% one way or the other
Processor: Marvell 6281 800MHz
Memory: 256MB DDRII RAM, 16MB flash Irrelevant I think?
HDD Capacity: 2 x 3.5" SATA I/II HDD, up to 4 TB (the standard system is shipped without HDD)
LAN Port: 1 x Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet port
LED Indicators: USB, status, HDD1, HDD2, LAN, power
If it has 4TB in it (vaguely hinted at above)... why doesn't it mention it in the item title? My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

Depends on how many users will be accessing it simultaneously.
There is no hint at all it comes with 4TB, it states quite clearly that you have to purchase the HDD as an extra.frivolous_fay wrote: »HDD Capacity: 2 x 3.5" SATA I/II HDD, up to 4 TB (the standard system is shipped without HDD)

The 4TB is simply the maximum limit for the drive capacity.
All the features you list can be found on an Infrant ReadyNAS NV10+, but I don't think you'll be overly happy at the price.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
HDD Capacity: 2 x 3.5" SATA I/II HDD, up to 4 TB (the standard system is shipped without HDD) IE it has got none nada no disks
The RAM it needs for its operating system (probably ok depending how many users you plan to use)

OK, belatedly laying my cards on the table. I'm finding the wall of text specs fairly baffling.
We just need something to backup a load of photos, and perhaps iTunes libraries.
Are you saying 4TB is built in, but if for some reason I feel the urge, I can buy a HDD to put in it? (But why?)
Last time I was this confused was looking at epilators in Boots

Is it me, or are some of you saying different things too?

It has NO storage capacity whatsoever, the actual storage capacity available will be entirely dependant on the size of disks you buy and the RAID level you choose to use.frivolous_fay wrote: »Are you saying 4TB is built in,Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
