Hi
I use a PC desktop up in my loft, with an Edimax USB ADSL connector for internet signal. Works a treat BUT
I seem to lose the settings every time my does reboots after updates to the point where I need to load the Edimax CD and re-install all over again.
After said reboot, the wireless network is no longer visible.
How do I retain the settings on shutdown so that the broadband will activate on startup? Many thanks in advance.

There's your problem. Throw away the cheap pile of junk and go get a proper one.
Why are you still using a USB ADSL modem? Get a wireless ADSL Modem router and be done with it and DO NOT BUY AN EDIMAX ONE

Normally in any router once set up you SAVE the configuration before login out .

It has nothing to do with the make of your USB wireless dongle or saving the settings in the router!
Try using Windows Zero Configuration (WZC) to control your wireless connection on your desktop. see here for more information. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
