Hollywood/Movie Glam

Hi everyone

We're having a Movie/Hollywood Glamour theme to the wedding and I'm trying to think about how to decorate the reception without it looking "tacky" if you get my drift and I need some help.

I do not have a CLUE what to do as I've Googled it and all I'm getting is tack....not what I want!:eek:


Please help a bride to be in need:o

My local bridal store (lush place which I have the luck of walking past EVERY day taking little one to school) has just this theme in her window. The colour is black and white/ivory with lots of bling and some fabulous Audrey Hepburn images. They have crystal droplets on strings from the ceiling. hth x

I *heart* Audrey Hepburn....she (and Marilyn Monroe) are my inspirations for the wedding

Our colours are black and white too, with a hint of red

Ok, try looking at Breakfast at Tiffiny's or MM You could have rich and glam. Rat Pack for the guys, elegance for the gals. Long gloves and sparkly cuffs.

I would serve a champange cocktail for the toast in those nice proper cocktail glasses i think.

And i would have a swing band too.

I'm still thinking.

you can get some huge pieces of organza to make swags to decorate the room to give it a bit more opulance!
ill go have a look what i can find

Parents are sorting champagne etc out and they've bought champagne flutes but I'm having those hibiscus flowers in each glass but thank you!:T

Swing Band is also a great idea....but room just isn't big enough:mad:

We can't hang anything from the ceiling or walls (:() otherwise this would have been a FABULOUS idea!:T

so think big white and red feathers and flowers adorning the tables with loads of silver accents and black linen napkins on white table cloths

You could have giant vases with massive feathers in, in different colours with lights at the bottom of the vase
