Hi Folks,
I'm new to this MSE business so forgive me if this is a daft question. I've also checked out the links in the sticky above but they've not really helped me. Hubby and I bought a new Hotpoint £500 washer dryer when we moved into our new house in April, we decided to shell out on a "decent" one, as it's the one appliance we decided we couldn't manage without if it broke down. And lo, not 6 months later, the dryer has gone kaput! Having had a baking summer, I'm sure you'll appreciate that the dryer has hardly been used - we rang the engineer last week, who came out on Tuesday to say that the fan on the heater had gone and he'd have to order one. Should come in Thursday, he'll come and fix it Friday. Well, OH rang Hotpoint today to find out if the part had come in to be told it hadn't and they hadn't got a clue when it would be and they couldn't even give us an indication. I wouldn't normally be so pee'd off but we both work f/t and have to take time off work for someone to be there - neither of us can arrange this at short notice. Plus, the dryer is practically new and I just don't feel this is acceptable, especially when we paid so much.
Anyway, after all that rambling, has anyone got ony tips on "how to complain" and anyone had any joy with requesting "something in compensation"?
