I need to buy two laptops - 1 for each of my dear cherubs. Considering Dell and Acer as I've used both of these previously. They need(?) them for h/w (they say) but also MSN (natch), games, email, music, videos, surfing etc etc
Anyone got any advice on models / specs?
Also any deals on at the mo?
Thanks,

I got the £299 Acer from Comet when the deal was on. I think it now stands at £349ish. I've been very pleased with it. Good build and performance.
Since the price increase on the Acer I bought a similarly priced Dell laptop for someone and I thought it wasn't as well built as the Acer. Very similar performance and spec, but I found the Acer a better feel and more comfortable to use, as well as better looking. So between the two, I would go for the Acer again.0 -
