Car Insurance and Cashback - Help!! What am I doing wrong?

I am about to renew my car insurance, and have used the method to cut costs as described on this site - ie using the comparisson sites then looking for cashback....
I found a good deal with Hastings via GoCOmpare for £243.08 with no vol excess and £100 compulsary. When paying monthly (which I have to do as I'd never afford a one off payment, nor do I have a low rate/no rate credit card) it comes to almost £270, but with the cashback of £61 advertised on Quidco I'd be paying £210 approx.
SO....when I clear cookies then go via Quidco to buy the Hastings policy, using the exact same details and requirements, it's coming up at approx £300 spread over the year FOR THE SAME COVER! Once I factor in the cashback (which'd take 3 - 4 months) I'd be paying nearly the same £240 ish as if I'd gone through GoCompare without cashback.
Has anyone else had any probs like this, or does anyone know what I may be doing wrong, because I'm at a complete loss as to what to do....I have a few days to sort this out so need help. Any help at all would be very much appreciated!
Thanks.

Think I've seen other posts saying Hastings automatically increase their quote via a cashback site, to cover the cashback (!) Which makes going through a cashback site a bit pointless, you might as well get the money off upfront.
Nearly went with them this year, as they were cheapest, till I read other peoples reviews, stay clear. They also exclude a lot (legal expenses, personal injury, protected ncb, breakdown) to make their initial quote cheap. Decided to pay a bit more and stay with Prudential.0
