  • Can anyone tell me whether I can see the new timetable which starts in May? 2014? I want to see the new timings/routing for the new Virgin Shrewsbury - London service.
    Thanks, Chris.

I was doing some research for Romsey to Portsmouth on the 30th of this month for a potential day-out

£109! for going via Eastleigh rather than £7.25 for going via Southampton Central. Madness.

If you click on off-peak, you will see they are offering you a:
Freedom of the South West 8 in 15 Day Rover
So travel via Penzance, every day for the next week or so, if you like. :D

Working out the details seems to be still some way off. There's a lengthy and somewhat inconclusive thread oh the railforums.co.uk site about it

Why would they offer a "freedom of the South West" pass for that trip?

    ----

How very strange, Southampton Central to Barnham is £9.90 (weekend off-peak with NSE card), same price if I wanted to go to Brighton (extra 50 minutes on same train) or even Ashford International.

    I haven't any idea.
Perhaps you should ask them. ;)

Yes, there are some very good Southern priced fares.

Two plausible answers to the first question:

    a programmer has goofed
it's a deliberate ploy to scam unsuspecting customers

    which do you prefer?

As to the second question - that looks like a flat rate fare for any journey. What could be simpler? Not strange at all.
  • Hi all just wondering if anyone had any idea how to get cheap tickets on the following:

    Departure: Manchester (Any)
    Departure Date/Time: Friday 6th December after 6pm
Arrival: London Euston or any London Station
Return: Sunday 8th December after 5pm

Any help on the following would be a massive help.

    Thank you.
