(as up to 2kg is reasonable for Special Next Day then it jumps to a ridiculous amount)Octy
rose_sparky wrote:Octy
There is definitely an unacceptable gap with the Special Delivery charges and another weight band is certainly needed.
You will not get it. I have spoken to them about this and 2Kg is the cut before you are meant to move on to a courier. This was the agreement when parcelforce was sold off from the Royal Mail.
They are however missing a trick here, for all the hard time we give the Royal Mail they still offer the most comprehensive and easiest service especially when we miss a delivery (it's a lot easier to nip to the sorting office than trek 30 miles to the couriers depot).0 -
Everytime I call RM I moan about the jump in weight on Special Next Day and tell them they are missing a good opportunity. A lot of sellers would use this option if it didn't jump from up to 2kg to then up to 10kg.
I was told that they are thinking about doing this but it seems that whoever you speak to at RM tell you different things.
When the PIP came in it seemed that I was more clued up with what was happening than some of their own staff. Mind you I had spent 2 solid weeks updating the postage on my ebay templates for the change over

Interestingly a couple of competitors have now listed their items using special delivery..and they are charging more than me.
I'm not used to selling anything with so much competition and this is fascinating!
I've also had some spam through ask seller a question which starts 'my dear friend' offering to sell me wholesale electrical goods and/or cheap DVD...which is also interesting as my item is neither of those. Spam obviously reported but I was intregued as it does seem that these spam mails are triggered by the selling price of items...they don't bother spamming me for my £10 things.
