When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :)

Goooood morning....hope everyone well and had a good weekend:D I completely forgot about coming on here yesterday morning...was in far too much of a rush.
So, quiet day for me - work then girls both playing in netball matches after school so wont pick them up til 6. Then youngest off to Guides...quiet evening;)
Here's my list:
  • check banking
  • daily scratch
  • lunch from home
  • meal tonight is undecided - it might be from chippy, so I can concentrate on some uni work while girls out;)
  • cut grass after work hopefully - darn letting agency have told me its too long...cheek, its not too bad:(
  • water heating only on for a little while
Hmmmm....a very small list from me, can't think of much more:o
Have a good day everyone:A
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Morning Milly! Looks like you've got a busy day ahead :p eurgh! feels so early, I feel so unprepared for the day...

    Today:
    • [STRIKE]check banking[/STRIKE]
    • leftovers for lunch
    • free porridge for breakfast (sitting in the cupboard at work, not sure whose it is but its been sat there for months so I think its fair game ;))
    • free banana (from yesterday's training) & an apple for snacks
    • charge phone at work
    • dinner out with oh's parents for fil's birthday (hopefully free ;))
    • [STRIKE]pay cc2 (I still haven't done this, If I don't do it this morning I'm in hot water...)[/STRIKE] thanks Olive! :A
    • text friend bank details so she can pay in the money she owes me tomorrow
    • drive carefully to & from work
    • do surveys sitting in my inbox/check onepoll
    • vaccum car in lunch break if its not raining
that'll do me, have a happy day everyone x
    DF as at 30/12/16
    Wombling 2026: £25.70
    Grocery spend challenge Feb £285.11/£250
    GC annual £389.25/£2700
    Eating out budget: £ 48.87/£300
    Extra cash earned 2026: £185
  • Cycling to work using a Boris Bike here instead of the Tube. It's a bracing 10k :-)
  • Moning everyone. Hopefully a quiet day for me too as I don't feel up to much at the moment.

    So far:
    • ran DW overnight on Economy 7
    • HC finishing off in TD on Economy 7 (just on for 20 minutes as I need the airer for the very wet load)
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys (very scarce at the moment)
    • fed and watered chickens
    • made lunch to take to work
    I will also:
    • take DH's car so use his diesel
    • do knitting at lunchtime to avoid the bakery a few doors down
    • stay at DD's house tonight so eat her food
    • have an NSD
Nothing spectacular in that list but it all helps on the DF journey :)

    Yo!

Off to London for a conference today, which is actually called a 'workshop', so that's going to be worse/interactive  Going to be confident and sparkle all day (I must remind myself!) :D as well as 'talking pensions' like I know what I'm talking about

    List-wise:

    - going to force myself to have brekkie even though not hungry at all - will only lead to me buying something in an hour or two...right?!
    - avoiding buying snacks just because I'm bored
    - walk to/from station
    - big shop arriving; OH will sort that out
    - either eat the chicken in the fridge or freeze it
    - pennies in the jar
    - look into getting currency
    - charge my phone on the train if I can find the charger I keep at home

    Catch you later xx

    Hot and Sunny here ;)

Don't forget your cc DNMS :p
(I'm nudging you, because that's what I would have needed :o)

    So today I have/will:
    • 15 mins on the CT - Popeye replaced that batteries and it was a SHOCK for us yesterday as we'd been having almost zero resistance. :o Managed only 10 mins yesterday. :o
    • Day 5 of Shred after a gap of 3 days - I'm not sure if that is acceptable?, it was tough enough to have been Day 1
    • ate breakfast so that despite being out and about, won't need to buy anything to eat
    • take water with me also
    • check banking
    • visiting Orphanage, and also checking on builder for Popeye on the way back - combining the journeys

forgot to say, meal from plan - chicken & pasta salad, the chicken cooked on the Braai (barbecue) last night using the same fire as for last nights lamb :money:
