  • I understand it is just like you say very frustrating when you are waiting. For me it wont be an issue soon cause im going to have to leave work and take the children out of childcare cause i cant keep putting the bill off for much longer and this is very upsetting. My claim has been processed its in payment but am not recieving any money so nothing else I can do! I cant get a crisis loan or hardship loan as its changed from single to a joint claim so their is no open claim so will have no other choice and I find this very upsetting that it has come to this.

    Hello

thanks for all the replies - didn't realise would generate that much interest!

I am actually a childminder and I asked the question because one of my clients says they are still waiting for claim to be processed. A previous parent had it all done and dusted in two weeks so like people are saying, the rules must be tightening up. I was aware for a while that people are fraudulently making claims by obtaining the childminder's registration number and couldn't believe how wide open the system was.

Unfortunately, the way it looks now, a lot of people who are trying to get back to work will be back on benefits because childminders can not work for weeks with no pay. I have had to terminate the parents contract with immediate effect as she can not pay the fees. I feel sorry for her but I have to remember it is a business and I too near to earn a living.

You would think HMRC would have drafted in more staff before creating more work for themselves. I know they are looking to get rid of staff in civil service but you can't give yourself more work with no extra resources. What a lash-up.

Hope you guys who are all waiting on your awards hear soon.
