Ok thanks to the lovely Good Housekeeping mag I have added peppermint creams to my list of "must makes"
alas... where the heck do I get peppermint extract from! I can find Peppermint flavouring in tesco but none of my local healthfood stores or craft shops or even lakeland has extract! HEEEEEEEELP!

You can buy it from Steenbergs' shop online : http://www.steenbergs.co.uk/product/379/peppermint-extract-organic/23/14
or there's some on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peppermint-Extract-(Organic)-100ml-Bottle---Steenbergs_W0QQitemZ310156293492QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=149417812313&rvr_id=149417812313&cguid=f12d90e312a0a0aa17d63886fffedf13
Not a clue where a physical shop sells it though...0 -
thanks nykied - I saw the ones online but it seemed a lot with postage on top too

I'm guessing it SHOULD be peppermint extract for peppermint creams and that flavouring won't do? *sigh* me and my grand ideas

i would just use the peppermint flavouring in the correct proportions and not worry about it'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

I'm sure I've used peppermint essence or flavouring, rather than extract, to make peppermint creams and they were fine

This recipe on Channel 4 calls for peppermint flavouring or oil: http://www.channel4.com/food/recipes/peppermint-creams-recipe_p_1.html
I'd just use the flavouring and keep tasting it as it may need more flavouring than extract.0 -
I've also used the flavouring that you can get in any supermarket, it works fine.0

Thanks gang! I will give it a go and see how they come out
I have Orange Extract and Lemon extract too so will make Orange creams but no idea if Lemon creams would work or what I could use that for LOL
Will let you know how my creams work out!
