What is right wing about giving correct advice?

From the looks of her previous posts it is something she doesn't like hearing! ;)

OP, you would be very silly to avoid paying what you owe - when you are caught the administrative penalty you receive would be more than your current debt, and you would still have to pay your CT!

What would be the point in wasting time appealing a decision that is never going to go in the OP's favour?

What is the point of coming to this forum only to receive incorrect advice?

If you don't ask you will not get

The LA may well take the OP's circumstances into account i.e. she only found out recently she was not to be considered a student from Feb 2010

    And she can prove this

As I have said before Apply/Appeal/Appeal

These are your rights You are not wasting anyones time

BTW OP always tell the truth when you are dealing with authorities Do not try to hide anything This could come back to bite you in the future

    Good luck always

Would the government actually have any idea if I would need to pay council tax for that period?

I mean as far as they are aware I was a student for the whole year and it has been paid....

    How would they find out?

I realise its not ethical, but im interested in whether they would likely find out if I didnt mention it (because if I start digging around about housing allowance then I think it might be pretty obvious)

How? I asked on here a while back something along the lines of "how do I know when I won't be considered a student?" Now, I knew no-one was going to say "oh, it'll be from <date>" - I got told by a few people how I would find out this information.

I was still attending the University up until July 2010, however in July I told the university I no longer wanted to continue my course, and they put on their system that I stop being a student in February 2010 (as this is when the last course fee was paid).
