It sounds like you are on a sub-meter, which would be quite normal for cavavan sites.

The owner will be on a business tariff as he is running a business.
The owner should not be making a profit out of the electricity he sells you. (but it may be more than just the unit cost as it can include maintenace of the sub-meters etc)

You'll need to refer to the site owner as to whether you could have your own metered supply direct from a supplier. Be aware installation costs could be very high if agreement is given.

    Hi oxoview,

Agree with Premier, the landlord may have a business tariff but he can not make a profit from your energy usage, you should be paying residential prices.

Not sure why your just paying 25p per unit as you should have a primary and secondary unit rate, if you have a one rate meter and three rates if it's economy 7.

You shouldn't need to have a new meter, the residential prices can be applied using the sub meter.

Speak to the owner to get all of the info you can, then contact E.ON.

If I can help any more just shout up.

    Helena :)

  • Helena - why would someone have "three rates if it's Economy 7"? I thought there would just be just a day rate and a night rate?

    Hi Flibertigibit,

Sorry, I don't think my post was very clear.

I ment economy 7 prices have three rates, day primary units, day secondary units and then the night rate, the meter should show rate 1, rate 2 and then the total.

Hope that clears things up, sorry :o
