Can't say I know anyone that has had an installation done but the work is performed by Rok - a national business with a good reputation.0 -
My understanding is the work will be done by ROK. The same company that will do the Tesco installs but at a higher price if you go down the Tesco route (but you will get some clubcard points
) 0 -
Right, so anyone disagree that even with a WSW facing roof it still seems like a good system installed at a decent price?0

What can we say?
Panels have a good reputation.
No idea about inverter (seems they haven't stated what type - )
Price is as good as any I have seen quoted.
What warranty are they offering on the system? 2 years? 5 years?
We all take pot luck on standard of installation.0 -

Thanks - the inverter is a SMA SB3000.
Warranty is 5 years on product, 10 years labour. 10 year performance for power output of 90% and 25 years 80%.0 -

That is a good warranty as well.
Being pedantic(Moi!) you stated in opening post:
"using a SMA SB3000 inverter or equivalent".
and it was 'or equivalent' I picked up on!
P.S.
I know it is the Sharp figure for output of panels, but I often wonder how that could ever be measured! You would need to take off each panel and subject them to tests in a lab at a measured temperature and known light source!!!!!0 -
Figures just dont make sense to me, Pay £10,000 to save a couple of hundred £ a year.
I looked into it a while back but after reading some US sites i was put off. One system was going to
take over 80 years to pay for itself, Providing it needed no maintenance work.
My bills are less than £600 a year.
If your off grid then it makes sense. But doesnt work for me.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Errrr, have you heard about Feed-in-Tarriffs?
I think you should perhaps avoid the US sites...0 -
@forgotmyname
You haven't taken the FITs scheme into account. Yes, if the only return for your £10k investment was (maybe) a couple of hundred pounds off your electricity bill, you'd be right.
But the Feed In Tariff scheme pays you for every unit you generate (41.3p) plus a bit more for any that you don't use yourself and export to the Grid (the scheme is part of the UK's attempts to meet its renewables targets).
So on your £10k investment (assuming this buys you a 3kW system) you'd be more likely to see returns in excess of £1000pa, depending of course on the pitch and orientation of the roof, quality of installed components etc0 -
It is safe to say that we are all aware of the current and future energy crisis that we all face. Even if you haven’t taken any great notice of this you can’t fail to notice the increasing energy bills you have been receiving from your provider! Fossil fuels will not last forever, most people would like to do their bit in order to preserve natural energy, some would even like to go to the next step and start using renewable forms of energy.
Make way for the newly found way to lessen the cost of electric consumption, to save energy and to conserve the resources!
(+3 letters in front.solarenergyadvantagesreview.com) offers a thorough review on utilizing solar energy as an alternative for nonrenewable energy.:j:T
I am newbie here that's why I can't post links for the mean time:rotfl:[FONT="]
