Touch control ceramic hob

Can anyone please share their experiences of touch control ceramic hobs?
Having new kitchen and need new appliances. Always had cookers with ceramic hobs but fancy built under oven and built in hob. Only problem is cleaning round the knobs on a built-in hob. Looks like a nightmare, fat and splattery things will be difficult to remove from around knobs. So, touch control seems great idea but can't find any reviews.
Are they reliable?
Are they worh paying extra money for?
Please help

I have one and find it ok. It did decide to lock itself which is maybe not a bad thing if you have children in the house but it is easy to unlock each time you use it.
The only thing you have to watch is putting a pan over the control as it switches everything off!0 -
I have a Siemens 5 'ring' 90cm induction hob with touch slider controls. The sliders were a little hard to get the hang of at first, I would end up going too far along the guage and turning the heat up too much iyswim. Once I got used to it though, it's been fine and it's soooooo easy to clean.
I'd hate to go back to 'sticky out' controls now.Herman - MP for all!

Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
We have a Bosch touch control ceramic, it's very good.0

I've had my Siemens induction hob for a few months now and it is so beautifully easy to clean. Not experienced any reliability problems so far, and am very happy with it. In fact, I'd be reluctant to go back to a normal hob with buttons now.0

Have you considered an induction hob? I have a Bosch one with touch controls and it is fanastic. Supremely easy to keep clean, very powerful & fast and very safe as there is no direct heat.0
