I got 1.25% down from 1.75%. So chuffed at that. They normally ask what the other estate agent offered, and then its up to them to match or beat. Thats what i did.
There is a company round here that has fixed rates of £750 + Vat for propertys upto £150K,and i think it ws £1250+Vat for all over £150K. but they arnt very big so dont offer the service as the bigger ones doo.
Again u get what u pay for....
we went and viewed a few properties that was with this agent...an old man, not very neatly dressed, didnt know anything about the properties...just kept on saying..."i dont know" "ring the office tomorrow".
However he was polite, so cant mock him too much. Bless him. He was a pensioner earning a few extra pennies i guess.0 -
I'm currently selling for £275,000 and have negotiated 1% plus vat for dual agency with 2 agents winner takes all.0

I am definately doing something very wrong - I have just spoken to an agent who has just moved from lettings into sales, they currently have 10 properties registered with them (of which 6 are under offer) they too are not interested in looking to shift below 1.5% this is sounding like a local cartel !0
