Child Tax Credit Advice

Hi
Wonder if anyone can offer a bit of advice for me please.
I currently work 40 hrs a week and my partner doesn't work at all. Now children both are at school (7 & 4), my partner is looking to return to work for 16-20 hrs a week.
Current joint earnings are my wage only which is approx £24000 a year, and we get child tax credit of £280 every 4 weeks. We don't get working TC due to my hours/wages.
What i'm trying to get an idea of, is if my partner worked 20 hours a week and eared an extra £7000 a year approx what affect it would have on the £280 we currently recive for Child Tax Credit.
I've tried ringing the helpline for Tax Credits twice now but couldn't even get an idea off them. They just said they couldn't advise until we amended my partners working details when she got the job.
Done a seach online as well, and can't really find anything specific that would allow me to work it out.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks
Gary
