dreaded PPI

i have recently sent of to reclaim PPI from a lloyds tsb loan policy, and a Halifax credit card. (sold to us even though we checked that it was suitable for us as we were company directors) went to claim for card as not a lot of work and had no money, to be told it was not suitable for us.
Did as Martin suggested and sent the initial template letter, along with the downloaded questionaire. Sent recorded delivery.
Halifax have replied (16 days). Stating that in order to action this request i need to provide them with the Data Subject Access Request Payment of £10.00 payable by cheque or PO.

Are they taking the mickey??
I guessed they might wiggle a little, but i had not seen on any of the threads, or tips that they would ask for this fee.
I will gladly pay it to put an end to the card charges as long as it is a genuine request.
Will they ask all ppi claimers for this charge?
Glad for some advice

    Hi there and welcome

Just a thought, but was it the reclaiming questionnaire or the template to request for your data you sent to Lloyds?

There is actually a reclaiming questionnaire you send as shown here below, these were issued by the FOS for this purpose, you then keep copies in case you need to refer to this at some point, or if your not happy with the final outcome you can complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).

They have 8 weeks to give a decision, but may ask for more time, that is okay just as long as they keep you informed.

The reclaiming questionnaire you will find here as stage one, hope this helps.
    Good luck.
