Other houses in our street have sold recently both as RTB's and as private sales so it probably is more to do with the fact they cannot get required amount.
If that is the case then i wish they would just say instead of causing me worry and hassle by fabricating an issue to get themselves out. The more i think about it it was almost two weeks after the surveyor before this became an issue so mor ethan likely they overstretched.0 -

If it helps - my house is 1960s and has wall insulation, however I put in more than 10% deposit so mortgage lender could afford for 16k to fall off the value before their money risked and the risk is small - would I put it in myself, would be damn careful on type and documenting. If even one house on estate has had problems (it can be a few thousand at least to sort out wall ties and damn messy - if serious 10k) then they have a risk to their money if near 100% mortgage. So no anyone with decent deposit/any equity would have no probs getting a mortgage on wall insulation - however if entirely banks risk they might think twice on 100%.0 -
We had cavity wall insulation put in our home a few years back and can highly recommend it - it has saved us an absolute fortune on heating bills and we very rarey have to put our heating on. When we move we will definately have CWI put in again if the property does not have it already. Sounds like something else to me.0
