Apply for ESA, you may be eligible for IB ESA, or even ESA because you are not eligible for
you may also be entitled to ,
Have you filled out the online to see what you may be entitled to?
have a look at the debt free board and fill out a statement of affairs to see if you can budget better to make the most of the money you have.
Very helpful advice, thank you I'll do as you say. Hopefully I can sort this out but if the worst comes to the worst as long as we can keep our house eat and clothe the kids I'll be ok.0 -
Apply for ESA, you may be eligible for IB ESA, or even ESA because you are not eligible for maternity allowance.
OP will not be able to claim income based ESA as she has husband working and earning 14K a year.
To be able to claim Contribution-based ESA then you need to have made enough NI payments in the tax years 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
The op says they have not worked for a year. So that means they already lost 6 months of NI payments in the tax year 2008-2009.
And then it depends on the work patterns previous to that.
It is very complicated and the conditions are Class 1 or Class 2 contributions paid or credited on earnings of 50 times the lower earnings limit for that tax year in each of the two tax years before the start of benefit year.
