I had one of my two bought lunches last month. So will set that up as my challenge for this month again, no more than 2 bought lunches for October.

Ooooh, could I join in? I managed a 100% record of homemade lunches in September, and I'd like to achieve the same in October :D

I noticed this challenge at the end of September and with the help of a few people on here I've been given some good ideas on what to bring.

I spent about £80 on lunches at work last month! Way too much! So far I've been in 3 days and I've not spent a penny so far.

I'm in for 16 days in total and I want to try 14 days without spending money at work on lunches.

100% so far here - was in a rush this morning but managed to stuff some frozen bread and a tub of philadelphia into a carrier bag to be made up at work! My grandma also gave me a massive multipack of crisps last night that she didn't want so I'm set up for snacks for a while as well!

Tigster - just noticed your sig - what a tiny baby! Glad he's doing well! :)

Thanks for running this, Mr Green! I had family in town at the begining of the month so have been off line.

I will be in Ethiopia for work one week this month and will have at least one working lunch out (to discuss being transfered abroad, eek!) so 12 brought lunches for me this month.

Today I have a bit of an experement - froze some lasagne (before baking) a week or two ago, popped it in the oven early this morning and it doestn look so happy! Hopefully its edible.

Ooch that seems a lot for soup, but easily spent when it just a few ££'s a day.

aylithuk & Macca1983 Welcome, Good to see some new people, It may be a bit difficult at first, you'll need to plan and think ahead. When you get into the swing of it it's really satisfying and very rewarding.

A couple of tips, the easiest thing is to cook/make a bit extra of what your having for your tea/supper/dinner and just put it aside for your lunch the next day. Also have a couple of tins of soup, noodles or in my case some macaroni something that will keep and can be used in emergencies

  • I definitely need to join this as I spend far too much on my lunches at work. I always intend to make sandwiches at home, but end up rushing around in the mornings and not having the time.

I'm going to throw myself in at the deep end and allow myself 1 bought lunch per week, which will be on a Friday. So I'm aiming for 15 days this month (including today where I brough my lunch in).

Wish me luck, I'll need it I think.
