Well, I have heard that certain probucts that are prescription only (and non-prescription in other countries) are likely to be sold 'over-the counter' soon in the UK.
So that puts your argument to bed.
some folk post online cos they want 2 argue - personally I do not. Could be a long itchy wait for kitty.0 -
Not to be rude but you dont seem to care much about your cat welfare leaving him/her for a few months with fleas.
Then you're asking for a product that you know is prescription only in the UK.
Then you choose ignor the advice of a vet nurse, who informed you about free check ups for your cat.
Then you purchase 6 months of this prescription only product from France are you really sure you know whats best for your cat?0 -

In all fairness the OP could well have bought the flea med now & just be looking for an MSE answer for the next time.
I think flea treatments perscription only is a con, you don't need a perscription to buy nit treatment for your kids.0 -

Yet on the OPs 5th post this is what he wrote,
No one seems to dispute what I have said on this thread.
If anyone has flea problems with their pet, PM me and I will give you details as to where to obtain Fromtline Combo.
Just seems a bit strange, new poster asking where to get frontline, then behold PM the OP for details. I smell a rat myself. Maybe I am too cynical.

Smell a rat ?
I don't think so ! ...there's no rats here (just a few fleas).
I initially asked for a supplier of this product.
Nobody answered me, they just started giving their opinions, which I did not ask fo r( much later, someone did come up with an answer).
On doing my own intensive search, I found a supplier, which I am happy to provide to others that need it. :j0 -
I'm sure that is for normal Frontline and not Frontline Combo.

I would be very wary of giving these flea treatments without knowing exactly where they have come from, there could be anything in those pippettes labelled as whatever you've bought. I treated all 3 of my cats with Stronghold this week and one has had a severe reaction to the drops and is now having prescribed steroid cream to treat the chemical burn on the back of his neck. I bought the Stronghold from my vet who has filed a complaint with Stronghold for me, sent them some photos of the wound and is trying to get some compensation for me to cover the expense of treating it.
Of course, this is a very rare kind of reaction and is superficial, but its good to know my vet is fighting my corner for me. I wouldnt have that if I had bought it from overseas, and I would have worried myself sick that my cat had been poisoned by some random unknown chemical.
God knows what I can treat him with in future though :undecidedMummy to

OP, if Frontline is not working, you are either not putting it on properly (too much on fur rather than skin) or it is your house that is the problem. Rather than using Frontline Combo, I would use a household flea spray, vacuum daily for 1 week. If cost is an issue for any flea problem, treating your house should be the first step rather than treating your pets, it will be more effective.
If someone needed a POM-V flea treatment, if I see them regularly then the pet is under my care and I can sell it to them. If I haven't seen them recently or regularly, we often do a free flea check to make sure it will be safe to give. Sometimes a different product will be better for them.
The law on foreign imports (From BSAVA and RPSGB):-
It is an offence for an animal owner:
To be in possession of a veterinary medicine not lawfully supplied in the UK (including, where appropriate, lawfully prescribed)
To administer a veterinary medicine unless it has a marketing authorization valid in the UK
To import a veterinary medicine into the UK, even if authorized for use in the UK (except for AVM-GSL medicines)
To supply a veterinary medicine to another person, other than as legally required.
And yes, there have been incidences of fake drugs. A load of fake anti-inflammatory was found in Northern Ireland for use in farm animals0 -
