    No, they're more like churros with yeast, skinny little things.

    You could of course make yum yums though! Recipe here

    They're a bit of a faff though, it's similar to making puff pastry or croissants in that you have to make a laminated dough.

    Which fryer did you buy, out of interest? I'm toying with the idea of buying one. Never been comfortable with heating oil to 180ºC in a chip pan...

    My deep fat fryer is used for making onion bhajias.
    Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

    I use my deep fat fryer a lot as nothing can convince me its any different to stir frying! and thats healthy isnt it?????????? i just make sure I am frying at the correct temperature and that i drain the food well.
    I like doughnuts (of course - but make those with 'new' oil in the pan.
    fried onion rings - usually after I have made chips - otherwise everything cooked after tastes of onion!
    scotch eggs (check out Andy Bates recipe for black pudding scotch eggs on the food network website)
    home made chicken nuggets or southern fried chicken
    funny thing is - I bought it to do my own chip shop style fish - and havent got round to that yet!
