Had 2 hours of pretty crap lessons today.

So, any advice from driving instructors...or even better...driving examiners!

BTW - it's my second one - failed the first on a really stupid thing! grr:o

Good luck, dont let it bother you tonight, have a good kip and have a good breakfast in the morning, im sure you will do fine, surely the fact you were close at first attempt shows you are a good driver

Don't worry about it, get an early night and try to relax, just remember you won't fail for going the wrong way or having to ask for directions unless you make a major fault.

And don't worry about making stupid mistakes, probably makes you more likely to make them!

Thank you all, for your kind words. I honestly didn't think I would be this nervous. I will certainly dress smartly! And, of course, I will inform you all about how it goes - which I think will especially interest the learners amongst us right now!

If it's any consolation, the new part of the test should hardly make any difference if you've been well trained.

The assessment and marking will still be the same, so take care to not do the same "stupid thing" you did on your first test and you'll have as much chance as anyone else.

If you tell us what went wrong last time (or on your last lesson), we may be able to give more tailored advice.

Well, it was a silly mistake - I got three minors - 2 for hesitation, not getting up to speed on a 60 mph road (in my defense, it was raining and busy! lol) Twas all going well, then I got to a set of lights on a steep (notoriously steep!) hill and, due to all the 'pull over when safe' stuff they do, I stuck it in neutral instead of 1st to pull off. Of course, i rolled back a bit before I caught it but it was too late! Talk about kicking myself.

Today, I kept getting all confused about lanes for junctions and turning. Didn't actually make any errors, but seemed to end up in the right lane when left would have been better because it would have avoided having to get back into the flow. Also, it was absolutely throwing it down with rain for the whole two hours, so in the end I got out even more nervous and fed up than when I started the two hours.

It means so much to me, to pass - at the moment I am travelling for up to three hours a day on buses and trains to get to university - it would take me about 40 mins max (in rush hour) and nearer 30 minutes in normal traffic. Plus there is a 8-9 week wait for test dates here!

Sigh - I am looking at the above mentioned forum, and trying my best to be positive!!!
