Dusty - thank you for your kind comment yesterday, it helped :A

Greenbee - £120ish for 1.5 cubic metres of air dried hard wood (a 'double' load), having looked at the Wood Fair last month this seems average for round here. More info here

I have been at work to issue yet more tea and sympathy. Home early to wait for Sainsbugs to deliver. I think I will S&S from the backdoor in which shouldn't take long to get back to how it was on Monday and then make a start on the Snug after i have collected the boys. HHC at 2.30 anyone?

Books used to be my real problem and used to have them lined up! Stopped buying them now as get passed them from my mum and friend. Normally just finishing one as i get given another. Don't buy anymore until you've read them and give away as soon as you've finished!

I use Method window cleaner. It smells gorgeous and never smears. A little goes along way.It was in offer in Mr S a week or so ago but not sure now? xxx

  • Been busy working the last couple of days so not had time to log on and/or do any flying. The house is a tip and needs a big tidy up! I'm not feeling much like doing it though. Had some terrible news over the weekend. My good friend's little boy (age 7) has been diagnosed with a lymphoma. Can't believe how their world has been turned upside down in the space of a week. This time last week he was running around in the playground at school, now he's lying in a hospital bed in pain, waiting to have chemo. I've been praying hard for him every night but extra flylady prayers and positive vibes would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully, the treatment will be successful, I believe the survival rate is very high, but either way they are going through hell.

Sorry for such a negative post, but it's just all so upsetting. They are good friends and our children have grown up together. DD1 is the same age as him.

Trying to think positive for them though and think of ways to help. Her mum is living at their house this week at least so cooking/washing etc is getting done. I'm thinking of sending her some miniture bottles of toiletries, lipsyl, nail file, magazine, etc. So any other ideas that anyone may have of what I could do/send in for them would be great.

Anyway, on a positive note, another friend told me on Monday that she's 10 weeks pregnant with their second. Really funny, as I had a dream a couple of weeks ago that she was pregnant and I told her, but she didn't find out until 2 days later that she was!

Best go and wake up DD2 ready for the school run and attempt to fold the mountain of washing on the armchair. I think once that washing is folded and put away upstairs (or in the ironing basket) it'll look loads better and seem more manageable.

    Hope everyone is ok.

    xx
  • THIS IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO GET DONE TODAY I have two baskets of washing to get through so will make a start on those

Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining area
    Level One

    Sweep and mop the floor
    Clear and wipe worksurfaces
    Shine the sink!
Wipe table and replace cloth if needed

Tuesday ~ Master Bedroom and landing
    Level One
    Declutter floor and floordrobe
Gather up all the dirty laundry

    Level Three
    Tidy the linen cupboard
Clear and clean top of chest of drawers or bedside cupboards
Tidy a chest of drawers/bedside cupboard.. fling the junk/unworn stuff and make it all neat.

Declutter the chairs, floor and top of any cupboards!

That's heratbreaking :( My thoughts are with you and your friend.

I've done lots in the garden, and the washing is dry :j So I'm going to see what I can cross off my list before DD gets home at 6:30 (DS was well enough to go to school and is staying for A-level maths, then the open evening :) )

    Thanks Natty,:kisses3:

The thing is with me I cannot bear to part with books I have two floor to ceiling book shelves full, and then two half size ones overflowing too. Its like an addiction to me. I am good though most come from boot fairs or charity shops. I have been asked to make a list of those I would like for birthday/christmas so once that is done no more, i hope hehe ...
