Saving whilst living abroad.

Hi

I am currently working in Switzerland and trying to save up money for when I return to the UK (for a mortgage).

Initially I assumed I could just open an ISA, but I cannot due to tax purposes. Other people have said I can also not open a normal savings account, since I am not currently a UK resident.

I have not got enough to open an offshore savings account, but really want to get started.

I am also not sure about opening a savings account in Switzerland as I am unsure if I'd have to pay tax and charges when transferring it back to uk. However I could make money out of the exchange rate.

Any advice?! I want to put in a regular amount each month, but not take any out?

Cheers!
