BT Line Rental Discount

At the end of July I received a call from BT, that if I was to return my calls back to BT I would receive a £2.99 line rental discount (subject to 12 months). He said after the price increase that would make my line rental approx £10.00 for the evening and weekend package.

I have received my bill this weekend, and my line rental shows as:

£15.78 - £2.99 = £12.79.

Called 150 twice, to no avail to see why the difference. Both times I was told there must have been some miscommunication. On the second I was told I could end the contract with no penalities, to which I replied great, I'll sort the new provider out tomorrow - to which he then retracted the offer!!

I am tempted to get a script of the recording!

Anyone else had this happen?

Thanks
