Turn stuff off that you are not using, and use a comparison site to get a cheaper fuel deal.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • I agree with turning everything off when not being used - however in our house there is an ongoing argument about the cost of turning things off then back on again using more leccy. For example if someone is on the computer/xbox and dinner is ready should they turn it all off or leave it on whilst eating, knowing they will be back on it again in an hour? Petty I know.....
Your thoughts would we welcomed though!!

How about work out how much a year leaving the xbox/tv on while eating dinner costs and suggesting deducting from pocket money (spouse included!). I bet you'll get a result then!

If you are not using it, turn it off. You will only save money.

I know what you mean because it's just something many of us have always done since childhood thesedays.

You can get energy monitors to watch what you are using & when but from there it's always consumer choice...effort vs. impact.

I normally leave my computer switched on all the time, it goes to sleep when I leave it alone but it is always plugged in and the socket switched on.

I had to have my electricity off for 10 minutes so I powered my computer down. It never came back on again:(

I needed to buy a new power supply.

Coincidence, or did it take the hump because I shut it down?:rotfl:
