London Tube Strike - Travel Card Refund?
Hello,
I didn't notice any recent post on this topic, so I was wondering whether if anyone could help me on this.
I have a weekly zone1-2 travel card on oyster. The 24 hour tube strike beginning tomorrow would affect my travels. Since tfl refunds any journeys delayed more than 15 minutes, can I request a partial(1/7th of my travel card) refund? In tfl's website, they have explicitly mentioned, they won't refund for the industrial action that took place on 6 and 7 September 2010. Wondering if that would be the case for the forthcoming one as well. If so, what basis do they have to deny a refund?

If they provide alternative transport then i doubt they will refund, I do remember many years ago the trains were
not running, Whether it was a strike or other i forget, But they provided a bus service instead.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Yes, they will provide alternate bus service. But the journey times will be a lot longer; jammed in a crowded bus.
The idea of getting a travel pass is to have the convenience of faster and better tube service. I could have gotten a bus pass instead then!0 -

But it is only for 24 hours so by your logic you would have been stuck with a week long bus pass, You have also been aware of this strike for weeks as its been in every media possible.. The strike actually does not invoke your refund from what i can remember - I may be wrong - as it is not something that comes under the refund T&Cs because the strike is called and created by the staff not any fault of the company per-se.
Plus to be fair they will probably be running a half decent tube service anyway"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0
