Hadn't though of that - brilliant! Honestly, it's been one of those days - if you saw it in a sit com, you'd tut because it would be too far fetched. Thanks again!0

Yes it's possible, more likely when idle or at a junction!
On the open road the rolling momentum of the car would effectively bump start it as soon as it tried to cut out and the fuel pump would be running faster at higher RPM anyway.
Personally I wouldn't, but then I don't have kids that need picking up.
Then again I do have work to get to and armed with a bit of technical knowledge (what to do if it did go wrong) id risk it for maybe a few days to avoid taking time off work.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

How bizarre! My mum had the same problem yesterday! Her fuel pump is knackered and her car just cut out and woudn't re-start. The AA came and couldn't get it going, she had to be towed to a garage, so if I were you, I wouldn't risk it, or you may be stranded!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Thanks Strider. I've decided to fetch them in a taxi this afternoon but your information will be useful tomorrow when I'll need to take the car to the garage. Many thanks again.0

Stranded? 5-6 miles away? It's almost like everyone has lost the use of their legs these days.
Even if you break down half way back, that will only be 3 miles to walk. I walked a 4 mile round trip yesterday.
