Improving DAB Radio Reception

Hi, I have a DAB radio separate but the reception on it is terrible. It's not as though I live in a remote part of the country (Stockport) and I'm sure there must be a way to improve the reception. Is it likely to be a problem with the separate itself? Could I improve the signal by getting a better aerial?

I have had a look online for a better aerial but most of them seem to be outdoor ones. As I live in a rented house I'd rather just have a small internal one.

I'd be really grateful for any advice on how I can improve the reception.

Thanks,

Lenny.

Find out which transmitter is broadcasting DAB in your area.
Make sure your aerial is pointing at that transmitter.

Consult the maker's instruction manual for their recommendations for aerials to go with their tuner.

DAB is to my mind a real con, receivers are expensive in comparison to FM/MW/LW portables, battery life is poor compared to the older FM sets, and if you live in a poor reception area you either get it or not, no in between, with FM even in a poor area you can still receive albeit with a hiss.

The coding of the signal is different to, I believe, everyone else in Europe, they use a better system, and if we change/upgrade then only a few (some of the PURE ones) radios can be upgraded.
